Mission

The Virginia Cotillion was established in 1990 to offer ballroom and contemporary dance instruction, as well as instruction on manners and etiquette for the DC area's youth.  A professional dance instructor teaches the dance steps and the music is provided through a professional sound system.  The dances taught include the swing, waltz, fox trot, pretzel, salsa, cha-cha, western, “current” dance steps and line dances.  The sponsors and former Cotillion students chosen as helpers assist the instructor during each session.  Six of our scheduled dances are held on a Saturday and the annual Snow Ball is traditionally held on a Sunday.

We make every effort possible to ensure that the ratio of girls to boys is even, however, in the event that our enrollment is not balanced, we rotate partners throughout the evening.

The Virginia Cotillion is a non-discriminatory organization.
